A pleasant ride to Elimbah and back has got me over the 1,000 km mark. Very satisfying. Body feels good ....slight ache in lower back ....but who cares!! That sludgy exhausted feeling that one gets when I don't exercise is a distant memory. Ones life is so much better in quality when we don'y have that sedentary exhaustion.
Today I rode more kms than I have ever ridden before. My last record was 137 kms in Tasmania about 7 years ago. I was surprisingly good when I finished. Backside and wrists are quite sore. I have been overwhelmed by the donations that have come from the incredibly generous residents of Halcyon Glades which is the lifestyle Village in which I live. All of those donations went in today and so are matched equally for this Wednesday
A "normal" ride today ..... a bit windy and because I didn't go early it was warm. Ahhhhh that cold shower at the end.............
I set out this morning with a desire to get over 100kms. When I had done 100kms I thought I could do a few more. But for the fact we had organised a street party at 4-30pm. I reckon I could have done over 150 kms. Not bad for a Geriatric cyclist!!!
Started riding with my cycling shoes and clips today after I got the drill to my cycling shoes to let in more air. Haven;t used clips since Tassie.
Curash medicated talcum powder sprinkled liberally in my nether regions before riding is solving the sore bum problem together with Sudocreme rubbed in overnight. A few sharp hills today......made the old bloke grunt!!!
Good start this morning ..... 36.5 kms. Legs and lungs feel good ..... bum a bit sore....... may need some anaesthetic powder or something. Only one half hearted swoop by a magpie. Feeling good
