Ivy-Jean's Story

Ivy-Jean started to feel unwell during Christmas 2017 so her mum and dad, Tracey and Kyle took her to see the doctors…

It took several more trips over the next week and a half for them to find answers to why Ivy-Jean wasn’t getting any better.

On the 3rd of January 2018, Tracey and Kyle received the devastating news that would change their lives forever.

At just 3 years old, Ivy-Jean was diagnosed with Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

She received her first round of Chemotherapy 2 days later on the 5th of January 2018.

Tracey and Kyle moved the family to Melbourne for the first few months of Ivy-Jeans treatment to be closer to the Royal Children’s Hospital – Now they must drive 3 hours to the hospital from their home town of Echuca for every appointment.

“Ivy-Jean is such a caring girl who constantly makes sure everyone around her is okay (especially her sister, Maggie and brother, Abel – as well as their 2 chickens, Silly and Bok Bok!) – she’s polite, fun-loving and super smiley! She would do anything to make you happy, even if it meant that she would miss out.”

Her favourite colours are pink and purple, she is obsessed with unicorns (aren’t we all?) and loves playing with her barbie dolls and teddy bears. She loves to dance and sing with her little sister, Maggie and watching Paw Patrol with her little brother, Abel.

This incredibly strong and resilient young lady will have to endure more lumbar punctures (for which she needs to be put under general anesthetic), blood tests, scans, x-rays and 2 types of chemotherapy until March 2020!

You are super girl, Ivy-Jean and we are 110% behind you as you show cancer who’s boss!
