Jess was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia on the 29th of March, 2019.
She underwent intensive chemotherapy treatment to fight the disease and dealt with low blood counts that delayed treatment multiple times. Her body is particularly sensitive to chemotherapy.
12-year-old Jess is a bubbly, confident young lady who LOVES dancing, singing and athletics. She has four siblings and a beloved puppy called Manu.
And over the years, this girl has fought cancer with everything she’s got…
And finally, on the 15th of July this year, after 2 long and very difficult years of treatments, hospital visits and side effects, Jess finished her cancer treatments and remains in remission.
Jess still has regular local blood tests to monitor her recovery and make sure she doesn't need any transfusions, but for now, Jess is in the clear and we couldn't be happier for her!
She is currently completing her education via online learning and adjusting to a life outside of the hospital.
This amazing young lady has endured so much and inspired a nation with her bravery.
Jess, we’re riding for you this October!
