My Story

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Together, we can save little lives.

Thanks for your support.

  • Developments and the story of 2019
    14 Oct 2019

    Hi Everyone, friends, family, supporters.

As anyone who knows me knows, I have been struggling with a pain disorder for a number of years and I like to challenge myself with the Great Cycle Challenge. This year, I complicated the process by deciding to have a baby, and at 30 weeks gestation, I have had some developments which have significantly increased my general pain.

For that reason, and on medical advice, I have to withdraw from the 2019 Great Cycle Challenge. I thought this might be coming, so hadn't done any of my usual promotion activities but have been pushing my teams fundraising. In spite of this, I have already SMASHED through this years fundraising goal, especially with the highly successful Kick Cancers Butt Day.

And so I threw myself upon my brothers mercy and he has risen to the challenge beautifully. The rides will be completed! Just by my brother, Chris, instead of by me. He has acquired a baby seat and helmet for my little niece Ayla and they are exploring the area around their newly bought house in Perth.

And I will be back 2020, with a baby of my own in tow.
