I'm Riding For

Emma Picton

Emma Picton

This amazing woman found out she had an almost unheard type of cancer in her mid 20's. With completing Proton therapy in Switzerland, numerous radiation therapies, drugs, trials, copious amounts of surgeries she was able to prolong her life to 31. I am so grateful I was able to be a bridesmaid earlier this year for my best friend of over 15 years. I miss you dearly Em Em. This is for you ❤

My Story

25 Aug 2021

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Together, we can save little lives.

Thanks for your support.

Today I went for my first ride in over 5 years to begin removing some cobwebs from the bike and my legs.

It was surprisingly difficult, and the old saying 'just like riding a bike', may not have had a 30 year old body with a 14 year olds mind that believes he can still pick up fitness where he left off during high school, in mind.

Pictured below is a truly magical part of the Fernleigh track in Newcastle NSW where you feel you may enter Narnia on the otherside.

In this metaphor if I were to end up on the otherside where cancer no longer played a part in these children's lives, I think there would be quite a few who would ride with me through this spectacular place.

Sending love to all who choose to read this and thank you for your time.
