My Story

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Together, we can save little lives.

Thanks for your support.

  • Im riding for Isla
    8 Aug 2018

I am riding for Isla. Our first baby was diagnosed and fought stage 4 Neuroblastoma for over 2.5 years of her life. Prognosis was 50% at diagnosis and Isla underwent surgery, high dose chemo, stem cell transplant, radiation and immuno-therapy. Her fight was hard, painful, scary and for a little person, just mind-numbingly huge. To be pumped full of drugs and chemicals trying to kill the monster trying to kill her. To be held down and retrained for yet another blood test, another procedure. To have undergone more than 40 general anaesthetics, been unable to eat for over 6 months, had countless blood tests and broviac dressing changes. To have gone through all that and SURVIVED and be the smiley, cheeky, kind and beautiful little lady you have become is amazing!!!

But our children deserve better than this. Kids should not have to know this pain. We need to find better treatments, better prognosis' and better long term survival with less adverse side effects for our children.

    $$$ = research = cure

  • This is going to be a challenge
    8 Aug 2018

My goal is 200kms in the month of October. This is going to be hard - the last time I rode a bike was before we had even been blessed with Isla (and she is soon to turn 7!!) 200 kms to be clocked up around all the other things that need to be done in a day with three little kids and a husband at work is going to push me and I know it is going to hurt.

I don't want this to be easy - fighting childhood cancer is not easy. It is really, really hard. It is hard for our little heroes fighting the fight and it is hard for Mums and Dads, siblings, grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, cousins, friends.... communities.

I am going to do this - no matter how hard.

It would be nice to do this with your support!

    Thanks you xxxx
