My Story

16 Jul 2018

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Together, we can save little lives.

Thanks for your support.

  • Update
    11 Oct 2018

For those who haven't seen my previous posts here where we stand as at 11Oct18.

We are 11 days, 89.2km, 17 replaced spokes, 2 rear wheels, 4 tubes, one new seat post and two very upset knees into my 200km journey.

Pink Bits has recorded a top speed of 39.2kph (so far).

With your help we've raised almost $1800 for this amazing cause which, while a little short of my target million is still outstanding.

I'm almost halfway there, will keep you posted...

  • In the beginning...
    30 Sep 2018

And we're off! Started the challenge with a leisurely 13km. Could've gotten further but I scored a flat rear tyre (possibly due to excessive speed) and had to drag my Pink Bits the last little distance. Once my knees and I are on speaking terms again we'll be back out there...

Firstly, a great big thank you to everyone who has donated to this fantastic cause.

I've decided to up my fundraising goal to one million dollarydoos. I mean, if there are people willing to contribute to a GoFundMe page trying to turn a "self-made" multi-millionaire into a billionaire then surely there are people willing to contribute towards something worthwhile?...

While I realise the chance of reaching this goal are about the same as my sailing a supermodel-powered catamaran backwards up the twin peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro while naked I can dare to dream.

So, spread the word. Tell your friends. Get a tattoo on your face of a somewhat overweight middle aged (When did that happen?) man riding a tiny pink bicycle or maybe throw mum in a home and sell her house - I won't judge. Because every dollar counts.

  • This again...
    30 Jun 2018

Afternoon all. I've decided to do the Great Cycle Challenge again and would appreciate any sponsorship towards this worthy cause.

I got the impression that my goal of 200km for the month last year was a little underwhelming for some people. In light of that I've set myself a goal this year of 200km.

The difference being I'll be doing the 200km on a borrowed bicycle, being my neice's. Imagery of this high performance ground missile should be available below.

Feel free to visit the link below and sponsor me!
