Just a quick update to note that my October riding goal was not ambitious enough. As everyone knows, in this economy, your 100% is not enough. You must give 250% at all times. So, with this in mind, I have upped my cycling distance target for October from 200 to 500 kilometres. Oh, yes. I'll try and melt these tyres right off the bike! Let's go!
Maroubra beach is the place to go in Sydney if you don't like crowds. There's plenty of beach for everyone, excellently surfable waves, you can always park, and sun-chasers abound. The northern end of Maroubra also has this rad sculpture of a giant Rubik's Cube near the water. Check it out sometime! The weather was "BEE-YOOTIFUL" at Maroubra today.
On Sydney's famous "Bay Run", you will find all the fittest people in this city working out: jogging, cycling, rowing or dragon boating. Right in the middle of this ~7km circuit is the Haberfield Rowing Club, a venue with supreme panoramic views of the water. Just an excellent place to grab a drink or a snack after a hectic workout with your friends!
Federal Park, Sydney Harbour is a nice quiet elbow of the waterway, being both a scenic parkland with a nice view of the city skyline, but also a location where luxury yachts are parked and marine works are carried out. It is the perfect place to finish a ride at sunset!
The "Greenway" is a recently completed footpath / cycling track which runs along waterways and through parklands in Sydney's Inner West. I hadn't had the chance to try it out before, so I took the opportunity today. I grabbed a delicious iced coffee and chicken wrap at the halfway point, to recharge the bio-batteries.
