Over the past two Octobers one of our club members, John SMALLWOOD has ridden 5012 kilometres and raised over $9000 for the cause. He was riding for his grand-daughter Tiggy, who had developed childhood leukemia but we are pleased to report that she is now in full remission and leading a very full and active life. T

But far more importantly, this year the Wynnum Redlands Cycling Club (WRCC) have agreed to join John by entering a team Into the Challenge. We do not have a set number of riders yet but have set a provisional target of $7,000 for the month of October. https://greatcyclechallenge.com.au/Teams/WRCCHeroes.

We have adopted the name 'Heroes' because all the children suffering from this terrible illness are little heroes and we want to give the opportunity to live full normal and active lives they deserve and to help all the doctors, nurses and carers tp provide that opportunity

This October, WRCC Heroes is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so we are riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support our challenge by making a donation through our fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Together, we can save little lives.

    Thanks for your support.

    John
