Not much updating going on. Sorry. But then, there's not much riding happening either sadly!
After my enthusiasm of a week ago, it's been a week of wind, rain, and the return of the dreaded IBS! I did manage a ride around the local pond on Tuesday 21st, but then didn't get on the bike again till Friday, and then only a short ride after having spent half the day in bed! Then Saturday was recovery and other tasks getting in the way, with every intention of riding yesterday, when it rained, and rained, and rained.
So finally, here I am on Monday and finally doing a decent ride. Today I managed not only 12.5km of riding, but also a Pilates class! I thought there might be a 6-flight stair climb in there as well, because I'd been warned that the lifts in the Physio's building were out for the count. But thankfully one of them was going again by the time I got there. So, with the gift of no stairs, I decided to take a tour afterwards, to look at the new Acton foreshore area. I continued on from there to where Sullivan's Creek meets Lake Burley Griffin and rode back through ANU to the tram. For all its current woes, ANU has lovely, well-kept grounds, so I always love a ride through there. And, of course, with a half-hour each way ride on the tram, there was time for my other love in life - reading.
Oh, and while I was in town, I ordered a new computer. Just a small thing!
First ride in my "All Star" jersey! Finally back on the bike after over a week off the bike! My hip is a lot better for the rest, which was enforced by getting sick!
This is one of my favourite rides, because it's a nice distance, without to many hills, and very picturesque! And as a bonus, it's right near Dad's place (that group of white buildings behind me in the first picture is where he lives) so I get to drop in on him on the way around. Oh, and another bonus - no grumpy magpies!
The 7.5kms went really well and I think I can manage some longer distances going forward, which is good. I'm going to need them! I'm not doing so well towards my 100km goal at this point! Lots of catching up to do!
