What a great day and ride to bring up my challenge pledge of 800km. Cold start but breaking into a glorious day of 18c. Well it is the high country of Victoria.
Today’s ride was nearly a reversal of yesterday’s ride except for some coarse gravel back roads which made it interesting.
The climb back up to Beechworth from about the 26km mark wasn’t without effort but at least being a rail trail the gradient was no more than 4%.
Very chilly start to Day 3 of HCRT ride. Nice scenic flat terrain made for an enjoyable ride.
And day 2 of my HCRT adventure. After a ride through countryside that had been devastated by the January bushfires todays was riding some 30km skirting the Hume Dam foreshore then final 20km on the rail trail and pathways to Albury. Good ride except for thunderstorm we were able to let pass while under cover.
Today’s ride was the Shelley to Tallangatta Rail Trail. The trail is in the region which was devastated by bushfires earlier this year.
