GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
We only start cycling in the afternoon so it wasn’t too hot. Kayne and Siska wanted to ride a long distance bike, but I wasn’t too keen…but I listened to the kids.
On our way back just when we got off the boardwalk Kayne got a flat tire. I called my friend and luckily her husband was at Bunnings and bought me a repair kit. My dad told me how to do this all, so no problem…only their pump was missing a piece so we couldn’t pump up the tyre. So Siska went on the back of my bike and Kayne on the minibike.
The last 2km Kayne gave the bike back to Siska and he ran home.
This ride is for my friend Helen and of course for my own papa ♥️♥️
We’re nearly at the end of October but you can still donate, even the whole month of November.
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
Another ride done in the gym. But just a little 7.8km as I have fluid in one knee I take it a bit easier as it’s not getting any better even with ice on it. So yesterday I had an ultrasound and X-ray done and hopefully it will get fixed soon.
This is so annoying as I finally been able to pick up my exercise a bit and hopefully this would not stop me either. That’s why I had to ride a bit today and hopefully the kids will ride this weekend a lot of km again.
Today I was riding for my special friend Helen who is an amazing strong woman who is battling cancer. She has teaches me a lot when I was really sick with Pericarditis. This ride was for you ♥️
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
Today I just took a very easy ride to get my muscles moving. After the whole weekend being active I felt I had to take it easier today.
Finally I can listen well to what my body needs and recover fully!
We have nearly reached our $2050 goal, but not there yet. If you like to sponsor us for this great cause please do so. ALL the money goes to Cancer Research!

Thank you from Kayne, Siska and Laura
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
Finally we cycled again after my back episode and yesterday we hiked the Honeyeater Walk what was great, but we definitely felt our legs more today.
Today we started around 9am and cycled all the way into town. The weather is definitely warming up, so we had a bit more water stops on our way. Siska had sore legs from yesterday but only told me that when we cycled uphill. But she didn’t have up and pushed through it.
We had a little snack break at the Marina where we met Mr Howard. He was on the cruise ship and told us that we did an amazing job to raise money for an so important cause. He also told us that he is involved in the kids cancer research in Newcastle, so it was close to his heart. He gave us a $10 donation and we took a photo and a big thank you to you Mr Howard.
On our way back we stopped at the Kids Health Expo…the kids ran in straight away and of course Kayne was playing with a ball and Siska was playing with the magnetic sand. It was a great setup from free books to garden worms (compost) to playing games for the kids to face paint and a roller skating disco demonstration and they talked about sport for young athletes and what is too much sport etc. It was very interesting for sure.
We left and cycled back home with a few tears from tiredness and pain legs. But we have made it and after a warm bath and a shower for me we are ready to relax the rest of the day…
Thank you everyone again for your donations and if you still like to donate this is still possible!
Lots of love from Kayne, Siska & Laura
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
I WISH FOR A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER!
And this is what I and many others wish for that’s for sure! Nobody needs to suffer and struggle and I so hope there will be a cure one day. Therefore I keep riding!
Please keep donating too ♥️
Today I twisted my back and was in so much pain. Hopefully I can ride tomorrow. The kids can’t wait!
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
What a great morning we had. We cycled to the boardwalk and then the kids joined a free class from Coach Tim who explained road safety. Was a great class and after this class, Kayne showed me on the road what he has learned. Sticking out his hand when turning left or right and he was more aware about his surroundings while cycling 🚴♂️ Definitely a great class. Thank you coach Tim from @nextstarssportsacademy.
Coach Tim also does the running classes what Kayne wanted to do during the year, but because of his busy football schedule he wasn’t able to. But the season is over so on Tuesday Kayne and Siska will try his class and go from there.
After that we had free fish and chips from F-150 and that kept us going and I think it was sponsored by @fordaustralia. Thank you very much 🥰 It was delicious 😋
We cycled along the boardwalk into town and the kids cycled a bit with Penelope and River who also cycled into town. Definitely a great morning and afternoon spend.
On our way back we stopped at the @fatfrogbeachcafe for some smoothies and I met a very kind man who is recovering from a 5 metre fall from the roof! What a story and I’m sure you will get back up running as you are so determined! Keep it up 👍🏽
From here we still had 4km to cycle but with sore legs it was a bit harder, but we kept fighting against the pain! Thinking about all those beautiful people who are fighting against cancer, this is all for you ♥️
Have a great Sunday and tomorrow I think is my rest day, but I won’t forget you all ♥️💋🌻
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
This ride is for opa, my dad who is in hospital at the moment.
We had just a quick afternoon bike ride together. Beautiful weather and a nice ride.
A big thank you to my beautiful friend @karlien.nothard and the fam for giving the bike to Siska. Great she can ride again 🥰
Tomorrow morning we will jump on our bikes again and I have something arranged for the kids and their bikes to get road safety aware.
For everyone who have already donated we are so thankful for your donation! And if you still like to donate, please do so.
This morning I cycled in the gym 10.4km. Another day and another ride done. ✔️
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE
This morning we had a better start that’s for sure! Siska started on the back of my bike and we cycled to her friend Max to borrow his bike. Thank you Max, that’s very kind of you and next time we can hopefully all ride together.
It was nice and cool in the morning and with a little breeze it was nice!
Siska was a bit scared first to ride a different bike, but after a while she did so well. We came across lovely people on our way and had a nice stop on our way back home at the Fat Frog. One of our favourite places. The kids used their vouchers they got from football as player of the match. A big thank you to the @fatfrogbeachcafe! And the scones were delicious 😋
A big thank you to everyone who has donated so far and if you like to support us, click on the link or donate button. This Wednesday is Kick Cancers Butt Day and your donations will be doubled!! Wednesday 9th October!!
For now, we have a little rest and a swim soon.
GREAT CYCLING CHALLENGE…a challenge it was!
What a morning….not the morning we wished for, but glad for the help we’ve got and without broken bones!
Only a broken bike 🚲
We were ready to ride this morning when Siska fell and her foot got stuck and I mean really stuck. While Dan is working away, I had to think who could help. I called Kahlina as her husband Jay is a firefighter so I thought that is a good start. They arrived and while Kahlina made it more comfy for Siska, I tried to help Jay and comfort Siska at the same time. Every movement she screamed and was in pain….my poor girl 🥲
Then Jay called his colleagues as it was so much harder then he thought. The fire truck 🚒 rocked up and even an ambulance 🚑. It wasn’t an easy task, but they cut the bike and freed her leg! The ambulance lady checked Siska but surprisingly she was totally fine! No broken bones or bad bruises. So very lucky 🍀 Only we need to find a new bike.
If anyone has a small bike we could borrow for now that would be great. Just so she can still ride to raise money for cancer till she has a new one.
What a stressful morning…..but thank you Kahlina, Jay, the firefighters and the ambulance for taking care of us and for the great outcome 🥰
*remember this Wednesday it’s double up day and all donations made this Wednesday your money will be doubled!
