Well, it is November and it is still windy, BUT the donations keep rolling in. At this rate, I may need to ride a further 50 km!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my challenge. Many of you have donated year after year after year - and for this I am deeply grateful. Thank you from the kids, and THANK YOU from me!!!
Yes, they have snuck in another chance to increase the funds raised for the CMRI to research cancer treatments and to work towards a cure.
Thank you sponsors!!! I'm sorry, but we were not made aware of the additional chance for matched donations until yesterday afternoon. I guess it depends on when the corporate sponsors who match fundraising come on board.
Having passed my increased fundraising goal of $1000, it's time to up the ante AGAIN!
New goal: $1500 - and I will pedal another 50km if I get there!!!
Go on - make me sweat (more)!!!
Having smashed my $500 fundraising goal and with less than 40 km to pedal to reach my 200 km goal, I thought it might be time to raise the bar!
If I can reach the new $1000 fundraising goal, I will add another 50 km to my distance. If I reach $1500 I will add another 100 km!!!
Reaching my new $1000 goal will also mean that I have raised over $32,000 over 11 years of pedalling in the GCC!
Go ahead - make me sweat!!!
Well, here I am - back for another year. #11!!!
I'm back because this year I am riding for my good friend Siegi - who passed away in March - FUCK CANCER!
Today I had a bit of time, and it looked like good riding weather at last. Although on call, I took a risk and headed out. At Somerset I decided to continue on to Doctors Rocks, all the while calculating how long it would take me to get back if the burner phone started shrieking. Luckily it didn't. I rode into the head wind, while looking forward to a quick trip home . . . but it's Park Run day . . . crumbs!!!
Like a salmon swimming upstream, I picked my way past runners and walkers, wheelchairs and prams - including 2 abreast who were determined not to give me any passing room. So I decided that I would be better off riding on the highway and finally taking full advantage of that tail wind.
WEDNESDAY THE 8TH IS KICK CANCER'S BUTT DAY!!! Online donations made on the 8th will be DOUBLED!!!
