Event Details
*** This is a social event for charity run by the GCC and not a club event held by MTC***
Come along for the whole day, or just for a lap. It's for charity, and socially distanced exercise. Most of all, have fun!
The goal will be 250km for the day. Starting at the Belmont end this year will provide for better rest stops.
Give yourself 12 hours to complete 8 laps (30km lap, 15km each way) and you'll have 240km done, then round out with a 10km victory spin!
Away from traffic, taking it easy as the path is shared with kids and pets, it will be a great day for the kids to try a lap, or for the elite Triathlon veterans to get some conditioning time on the bike.
It's not a race, it's a feat of endurance. Can you stay the course and suffer through?
Remember, there's kids wishing they could be there too....

Congratulations everyone, what an awesome day!
I really appreciate the support of everyone that was out on the track on Saturday - I had some mates helping me out, but seeing the GCC jerseys and the encouragement from everyone was fantastic!
I managed to rack up 200.1km for the day - by far my biggest ride of all time! This certainly helped to get some attention and to promote the great cause and attract some donations, so thanks everyone!

Thanks for organising Gareth. Good to meet people doing the ride and have a chat. I accompanied Grant for 130 kms of his 200km ride! All the best for the rest of the month!

Good meeting those who attended this morning. I've had to head home early due a family emergency. But I wish you all safe travels and I hope your fundraising efforts are rewarded.

Hi Gareth I'll be there but will ride at my own pace. I will start with you and do one lap and then return later in the day for another lap. It is great riding the track in October always see other GCC jerseys and will be wonderful to meet you,

Hi there
Just wondering if you could please tell me more about tomorrow's ride. Where and how often rest stops will be etc just a rough idea.
My teenage son is riding with you along with a couple of friends and his dad :)

Hi Gareth, I am planning on doing a few laps of the Fernleigh on Saturday so will see you out there. Not sure I’ll be able to keep up but it will be good to see the GCC jerseys on track.
7 Oct 2020 - 9:19 AM
I wouldn't worry about the pace. My estimate is climbing at 10kmh, descending at 35km for an average of 20km. 12 hrs and 250km is massive. I'm no athlete either.

Hi Gareth,
Im in New Lambton, is it ok if I just start from Adamstown & do a couple of laps?

Well I'm counting down the days, nervously. I hope you're all feeling excited and you're able to hit the fund raising targets you've hoped for. I think this year might be a bit tough to raise money, but life goes on. I'm looking forward to meeting you all. Keep up the good work.

This is a message to all those who listed as "interested". This will be a social ride. The track must be shared with family's and dog walkers. I'd expect our average pace to be 20 to 25kmh. If anyone is worried about attending, shoot me a message. It's a big day, but fitness isn't as much an issue as "posterior fatigue". I found doing the months quota in a day got me more donations.

Thank you all for your interest in the ride. It's a great cause, so thank you for caring. I'll be looking forward to meeting you all in October. 👍
