Event Details
Meeting at Regatta Point on Lake Burley Griffin @ 8am for a cycle of the whole lake. It is approx 29.6km distance.
All are welcome, it is a fun event to create community and to as a group knock down our kilometers.

I have attached a pic for where we will meet up. As Floriade is currently underway, they have blocked off most of the access through for bikes. So if we meet at Blundells Cottage and head clockwise around the lake this will allow those who are driving in to be able to park just off Constitution Ave. We will meet at 8am, departing at 8:10am we will be doing the full Lake circuit, however you can shorten if you wish by taking one of the bridge exits.

There has been question to whether we go clockwise or anti-clockwise and whether we stop for coffee. I am open to suggestion, if we go anti-clockwise we will be able to stop in Kingston for coffee towards the end of the ride. Alternatively we can go clockwise and have a coffee stop at the cafe (dock).
The pace is a leisurely pace (10-20km/hr), this ride is about the social and is family friendly not about how fast we can get around the lake.

If I can get there, I will only be able to do part of this ride because of time commitments and fitness level. I'd put in a vote for clockwise :)

This should be ok, because of the starting point people can shortcut across Kings Ave or Commonwealth Bridges which will shorten their trip.

I am in favour of clockwise i just dont know if starting from that location with floriade whether we will be able to get around

Yes, it seems we can. The path next to the lake skirts the outside of Floriade.
