This October, I'm taking on the Great Cycle Challenge to ride and raise money for the Children's Medical Research Institute. I am committed to fighting kids' cancer, a cause that hits extremely close to home. I ride for my beloved son, Soren.

Soren was a joyful 2-year-old, whose eyes sparkled with curiosity and wonder. In 2019, our world was turned upside down when Soren was diagnosed with leukemia. Despite his bravery and the love of those around him, Soren lost his battle. He was the light of our lives, and he will forever remain in our hearts.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. That's why my mission this October is twofold: to raise awareness about the brutal reality of childhood cancer and to fundraise for the Children's Medical Research Institute, which is doing ground-breaking work in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ultimately finding a cure for this devastating disease.

Every kilometre I ride this October will be for Soren, and for every child and family that has been touched by the unspeakable tragedy of childhood cancer. For every parent who has felt the depths of despair, for every child who has traded playgrounds for hospital wards, and for the memory of my beautiful Soren, whose courage continues to inspire me.

I can't do this alone. I need your support.
