I first started doing the Great Cycle Challenge because I love mountain biking and it gave me a reason to ride multiple days a week. Over the years the rides I have set my goals higher with longer rides happening as a result and in some cases a morning and an evening ride on the same day.

A week into 2021 I made a discovery that would ultimately start me on my own cancer journey.

I consider myself very fortunate that I only had to endure one surgery and one round of chemo, especially when the little legends that we are riding for endure multiple surgeries and rounds of chemo. It's heart breaking.

For me the pain, fatigue and nausea were short lived, unfortunately for some kid's they they will go through multiple rounds of treatment.

That why this October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
