This October, I’m riding to fight kids’ cancer.

I’m taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to pedal 500 kilometres throughout the month — raising funds for life-saving research into childhood cancer.

Why am I doing this?

In 2007, we lost our beautiful son, River Jase Chan-Smit, to brain cancer. It’s a heartbreak no family should ever endure. Cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among children in Australia, with three young lives lost every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

I ride for River. I ride for the children who didn’t make it. And I ride for those still enduring the pain of treatment — their courage is nothing short of extraordinary.
