My Story

This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge and 🚴 from Perth to Adelaide to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Port Pirie to Adelaide

20 Oct 2023

Left Port Pirie this morning just after 4 and decided to take the coast road to Port Wakefield. After a couple of hours in the dark, the eastern sky lit up and we were riding across the golden undulating countryside of the York Peninsula, where crops are nearly ready to be harvested. It’s a very quiet country road so you often hear sheep bleating, crows squawking and the occasional distant sound of machinery at work.

After 130km it was down on to the Adelaide plains at Port Wakefield and back on to the Augusta Highway for another 80km in to Adelaide. Feeling a little fatigued and nauseous, it was good to finally arrive in Adelaide.
