This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer it's the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.

This year I'm targeting to ride 500 km, a 100 km lift on last year which I found a challenge and required consistent monitoring of progress. I will also need to do several long rides and recover with short ones. I'm aware its nesting season for magpies and will renew my acquaintance with several families. Cable ties while not so fashionable will again be my friend.

I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
