My Story
This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Because cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia. Right now, 90 children are diagnosed every month, and sadly, 3 die every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Together, we can save little lives.
Thanks for your support.

Day 7: Middle Harbour Ride
7 Oct 2026Today, I braved the traffic hazards of Military Road, Mosman to get down to Middle Harbour Yacht Club. A "properly vertical" descent and ascent getting in and out, but the scenery was worth the effort! This is a top location to park your high quality yacht, because the shipyard is co-located. That means they are right there to scrub off the barnacles, load the seafood on board and chill the champagne for you. You know. Just how we like it. ;-)

Day 6: Kingsgrove Ride
6 Oct 2026I decided to "navigate by serendipity" today, in other words just letting my wheels turn wherever the bike wanted to go. I ended up in Kingsgrove, which has this thing called the "M5 Linear Park". It is similar to the Greenway, but instead of following a beautiful river, it follows a beautiful... freeway. 😂 Still. The surrounding suburb itself is *very* nice, seems like an idyllic peaceful neighbourhood, full of beautiful homes made with long-lasting red brick. On the way back there was this fun billboard, saying "Yallah Earlwood, Let's Eat!" for something called "Al Jannah". Oportos Portuguese chicken burgers was literally 20 metres away, so that's what I picked. I applied the valuable lesson I have learned in life, that "If you can go Portuguese, always go Portuguese".

Aiming for the Stars!
5 Oct 2026As soon as I updated the distance that I'll be cycling for fundraising in October, I also reached my original fundraising goal! $500 just blew by like a breeze. Since there's a lot of October left, I'm also setting a new fundraising target of $2,500! Sincerely, thank you to all of you for helping me reach my goal so quickly. As a wise friend once told me: "Aim for the stars, because even if you miss, you can quickly reload in half a second and nail those damn stars dead centre with the next shot". I think that's how it goes. It's something like that. ;-)

Day 5 - Ballast Point Ride
5 Oct 2026In the charming waterside suburb of Balmain, full of high quality coffee houses and delicious restaurants, you'll find the striking Ballast Point public park right at the water's edge. With expansive views of Sydney Harbour and Sydney Harbour Bridge, it's a great place to pause for a moment and gaze into infinity. There's also some very interesting and creative sculpture installations which are made from the site's former petroleum industry plant equipment.

Turning Up The Heat!
4 Oct 2026Just a quick update to note that my October riding goal was not ambitious enough. As everyone knows, in this economy, your 100% is not enough. You must give 250% at all times. So, with this in mind, I have upped my cycling distance target for October from 200 to 500 kilometres. Oh, yes. I'll try and melt these tyres right off the bike! Let's go!

Day 4: Maroubra Beach Ride
4 Oct 2026Maroubra beach is the place to go in Sydney if you don't like crowds. There's plenty of beach for everyone, excellently surfable waves, you can always park, and sun-chasers abound. The northern end of Maroubra also has this rad sculpture of a giant Rubik's Cube near the water. Check it out sometime! The weather was "BEE-YOOTIFUL" at Maroubra today.
