This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because not only is cancer the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week, but I have so many family and friends that have either battled cancer or lost their battle against cancer.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

Most of us know someone who is suffering from Cancer, who have had cancer and is in remission or who sadly passed away from cancer. I’m riding for Alicia, a cousin who left behind a husband and 3 beautiful little daughters at a very young age, Bong, one of my ex-colleagues and a dear friend, who also sadly passed away, Brian, a young teenage boy from another Saffa family, who is there to give us hope. Brian is currently in remission, but until a cure for all cancers are found, he will always have this sword hanging over his head, not knowing, if and when it will strike again. Last year I added a 4th person to my ride. Anelde, Alicia's sister is also fighting the battle against cancer. So far so good, but we are all praying that she will make a full recovery. This is not where the list ends, and this is why I need YOUR help.

All donations go to the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

I know it's not the 400km I used to ride, but this year I will be away for a couple of days in October, which will probably make the 200km a tough enough challenge.
